DENVER — Michelle Obama offered another nod to past attacks on her patriotism Tuesday in a speech to women’s group EMILY’s List.
Obama focused on her love of country in her speech to the Democratic National Convention on Monday night, and she promised Tuesday that it would not be the last time she defends herself on that account.
She said with a smile Tuesday that she is someone, “and I will say this time and time again, who loves my country and knows with all my heart that we can overcome all the challenges that we face.”
Republicans have used Michelle Obama’s words against her husband, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), to attack his presidential campaign, specifically noting when she said earlier this year that “for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country.”
