McCain launches 'Biden' ad
Written by Sam Youngman

Republican presidential candidate John McCain seized on rival Barack Obama’s choice of Joseph Biden as running mate, using the Delaware senator’s words against the Democratic ticket in a new ad.

The McCain campaign said the spot featuring Biden’s words will run in “key states,” and it notes that “before he was selected to run on the Democratic ticket, Joe Biden questioned Barack Obama’s lack of experience and said he would be ‘honored’ to run with John McCain.”

The ad features Biden being questioned by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, who asks Obama’s new running mate if he thinks the freshman senator is ready to be president. Stephanopoulos notes that Biden had said previously that "the presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."

"I think that I stand by that statement," Biden said.
